How to Calculate Acre Feet

Average depth of pond x size in acres

For example, if your pond is 4-feet deep average and a 1/4 acre in size, you have one acre foot. If your pond is 1 acre in size and 12 feet average depth, you have 12 acre feet. This info is important for calculating need for aeration.

An acre is a little under 44,000 square feet.
So if you have a pond that is about 100' x 100' you have a 1/4 acre pond.
